Managing organizational goals (i.e., Key Performance Indicators; KPIs) and the implementation of those goals is the essence of how strategy is achieved. Easier said than done; companies often experience a gap between strategy and achieved KPIs. The strategy-KPI gap exists because KPIs are a strategy neutral approach to manage goals (e.g., SMART: Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Relevant, and Timely). Conventional KPIs fall far short of capturing the leading and lag indicators required to achieve the desired strategy. What is missing in performance management is a bridge approach that allows strategy to be fully reflected in KPIs. MBX™ Performance Management |
