Arapahoe Outdoors was created out of an enthusiasm for the adventure and thrill of the outdoors experience. Started by two old college friends and camping buddies, it began as a personal quest to enhance our wilderness experience by being better equipped and more adaptable to the environment around us. In our search we were inspired by the wisdom of the greatest outdoors people in history, the tribes of the American Indians. We also learned from some of latest outdoor equipment innovations, but were frequently unsatisfied with modern standards of material quality and product design. Convinced we could do better, we began creating gear that better met the demands of the trail and the way we wanted to experience nature.
Arapahoe Outdoors ultimate goal is to encourage people to spend more time in the wilderness by creating practical and Innovative Adventure Gear that people will enjoy using. Our love of nature and adventure inspires what we do and we continually strive to bring together the time-tested techniques of the past, with the modern advantages of ultra-light, incredibly strong materials to create high-performance equipment for all levels of adventurers.

Since the age of 17 Graeme has suffered with mental health issues. Graeme’s condition has manifested in 10-yearly cycles, during which time he has had four breakdowns, each progressively more serious. His illness includes elements of clinical depression, extreme-anxiety and aspects of borderline personality disorder. 'Ride2Recovery' will be a series of rides, the first of which, starting on May 2nd 2011 is a 4,000 mile cycle around mainland Britain. When I first told my doctor and therapist about it they thought I was delusional. But now they’re right behind me. They can see the positive impact that regular cycling is having on my condition. The creativity of organising and planning this, as and when I’m able to, has given me a real occupation. 'Round-Britain', is something I’ve had in mind for a while, a personal challenge for me and a challenge to raise awareness of the role exercise can play in managing mental illness. I also aim to raise at least £2,500 for Sustrans. It’s thanks to them and their key project, the National Cycle Network, that I’ve been able to embrace cycling the way I have and use it as a way of tackling my illness.
